The Dynamics of Performance Management: Cultural Influences, Managerial Responsibilities and Global Challenges
Abstract
The manuscript explores the significance of performance management as a continuous, developmental and strategic process, crucial for enhancing both organizational and individual effectiveness. By mentioning essential theoretical frameworks such as people and performance model, expectancy theory, theory of scientific management and international HRM frameworks, the research emphasizes on the interplay of ability, opportunity and motivation in shaping employee performance. Moreover, this paper examines the evolving nature of performance management practices within multinational contacts, specifically drawing attention to the influence of cultural factors, the challenges encountered by expatriates together with various approaches to feedback, evaluation and reward systems. The findings also suggest, for performance management to achieve success there should be explicit objectives, transparent communication, continuous coaching and an alignment between corporate strategy and individual aspirations. Nevertheless, performance management should be dynamic, inclusive and adaptable to embrace global cultural differences to promote sustained performance improvement and employee development.
